Leadership
As a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Intreped Partners, Andy is responsible for establishing strategy and direction; modeling culture, values, and behavior; interacting with other leadership executives; and monitoring the overall operations and resources of the company. In addition, he focuses on ensuring that performance exceeds our customers’ expectations, maintaining a positive and ethical work climate, and implementing changes and long-term plans.
Andy played a lead or significant role in developing the nation’s homeland security laws from 2004 to 2010, including the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act, the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act, and the Security and Accountability for Every Port Act. Prior to co-founding Intreped, Andy served as the Chief Operating Officer of Aveshka, a Softtek Company, and as a Managing Director of Civitas Group, LLC. Before his career in government contracting, Andy spent a decade working in the U.S. Congress, including serving as Minority General Counsel of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and as a Majority Subcommittee Staff Director of the House Committee on Homeland Security.
He is a recovering attorney who practiced law for nearly a decade at two global law firms, Sidley Austin LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP. Andy graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with a B.A. degree with distinction in political science, where he was selected as a Harry S Truman Scholar and a John Gardner Public Service Fellow. He earned his law degree from Stanford Law School, where he graduated with distinction, was inducted into Order of the Coif, and received Stanford Law Review’s Helman Award.
