Her innovation and strategic insight have helped Federal clients in the Departments of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and Justice (DOJ) navigate complex programmatic and strategic challenges.
Shona's career started with DHS, providing policy, strategic, and analytic support to critical infrastructure government and private sector security partners regarding cybersecurity and physical security. At the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), she led efforts supporting development of the successful America’s PrepareAthon! and You Are the Help Until Help Arrives campaigns as well as the development of other public-facing resources designed to improve individual and community preparedness and resilience. Additionally, in the aftermath of hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, she redesigned the call center training process, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of disaster assistance training and ensuring that operators were more rapidly available and better able to assist survivors.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Maryland Global Campus and Bachelor of Science from University of Maryland in International Business, Marketing, and Finance. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
