The IAB is a voluntary, collaborative group of emergency preparedness and response professionals tasked with strengthening the Nation’s ability to prepare for and respond to emergencies through improved communication, interoperability, standardization, and partnerships. The IAB needed a partner with technical expertise to develop a strategic plan for the organization while supporting community outreach and communications.

Intreped Partners provided expertise to advise on technical aspects of emergency response, stakeholder engagement, and program management. This included strategic planning, coordination and facilitation of meetings, and strategic messaging to inform the first responder community of important support and grant funding opportunities. Our team engaged Federal, state, and local stakeholders and managed strategic communications to inform local first responder units of the availability and usefulness of the Standardized Equipment List (SEL), the IAB’s premier resource to support units with standardized “best-in-breed” response equipment. We also conducted a program review and gap analysis, which proposed the restructuring of IAB roles and membership and advised on corrective actions to better support local first responder units across the country.
Intreped’s efforts directly enabled our government client to make sound decisions on IAB right-sizing of staffing, activities, and government funding to optimize performance and mission completion. We also facilitated the addition of new respiratory protection and HazMat detection equipment items to the SEL, enhancing the safety of first responders nationwide.
